Day 45 - Symbols of the Holy Spirit Pt. 3

Let's become a burning lamp of God's Presence. The Holy Spirit illuminates the Word of God to us, in these days of awakening we must set our face before the Throne and call for the mantles of the 7 Fold Spirit of God to rest upon us and the oil of the Spirit to premeate our lives.

Under the Spout, tarrying at His Feet,

In the Days of Awakening!

Revival Quote: “Revival is when God's people return to God and God returns to them, and everyone sees the difference.”  - Henry Blackaby
Symbol of the Holy Spirit

OIL – Fuel, Anointing, Healing

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. - Psalms 23:5

Oil had multiple purposes in Biblical times, just as it does today. Oil was the fuel for lanterns, thus the source of light. Wounds were healed through the application of oil. Oil was used to pour on people being anointed and commissioned to positions of leadership and spiritual work. The anointing—the oil of Scripture—is directly related to the Holy Spirit’s work in our life (2 Cor. 1:21-22)

The Plumb-line and the Seven Fold Spirit

Zechariah 4, 2, 6-10 2 And he said to me, "What do you see?" So I said, "I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps… 6 So he answered and said to me: This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts…7 Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!” 8 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 9 "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will know That the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. 10 For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.

Zechariah 6:12-13 Then say to him, "Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the LORD. "Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.

Divine Pairs

The Seven Spirits of God work together in pairs. The spirit of wisdom and the spirit of understanding work in harmony with one another. The spirits of counsel and might work in unison as do the spirits of knowledge and reverential fear of God, all flowing from the manifestation of the Spirit of the Lord.

The gifts of the Spirit are appropriations of the Spirit operated by His will when the need arises. We do not possess the gifts; rather the gifts are manifested according to need. All nine gifts of the Spirit can operate within a believer filled with the Holy Spirit. However, the Seven Spirits of God are measurably greater demonstrations of the Spirit taking the mature and purified believer deep into God's mysteries and power.

The Seven Spirits of God are "mantles" placed upon the believer to operate in full measure. It is a wonderful thing to receive a word of wisdom; but it is altogether greater to walk in the spirit of wisdom. The "mantle" that rested upon Elijah and Elisha was an Old Testament representation of this reality. An examination of the messages and miracles demonstrated in these ministries reveals the functioning of God's sevenfold Spirit. The distinction is that the Spirit descended upon these prophets as the need arose while we are promised an abiding presence that is perpetual.

The Spirit's anointing that came upon these Old Testament prophets rested for a season until God's mandate was complete and then it lifted; in the ministry of the Lord Jesus the Spirit remained, tabernacled in the Son of God. The Bible declares that the Heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended as the appearance of a dove and remained. This is our promise as well!

The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding

Jesus, the Branch, walked in the 7-fold Spirit of God. He is perfectly wise in all things. He showed it among us during his earthly ministry, and He shows it now in His ministry towards us in heaven. 1Cor 1:30 says that Jesus became for us wisdom from God. It isn’t just that Jesus has wisdom; He is wisdom! (David Guzik)

Wisdom is related to understanding, so we speak of them as close brothers. God tells us: "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Prov. 4:7). It is good if we have a heart that is searching for wisdom rather than for some kind of gift that might make us popular and famous. Wise men of old sought for it, as a hidden treasure.

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding. - Isaiah 11:2a

  • Wisdom H2451 skill (in war); wisdom (in administration); prudence (in religious affairs); wisdom (ethical and religious)

  • Understanding H998 understanding, discernment

The spirit of wisdom is the supernatural ability of God that comes upon our spirits to see Jesus as He is and receive a spiritual understanding and knowledge of God’s word that enables us to know what to do, when to do it and how to do it in every situation.  It also reveals God’s manifold and unsearchable wisdom and secrets affecting His plans and purposes usually spoken in a mystery. It means a deeper intimacy into the things of God.

Daniel 9:21-23 While I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering. He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding. At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision.

The spirit of revelation/understanding is a comprehension of the things of God providing understanding with the mind giving insight with perception. Wisdom and understanding means the insight into the true nature of things with the ability to discern mode of action with a view to their results.  It is the ability to not only know the things of God but also the application of them practically.

Revelation is the comprehension imparted into our spirits from the Holy Spirit and transmitted into our minds.  It is the voice of God speaking to our spirits and informing our minds of that which God is going to do; the unfolding of hidden secrets to us by the Holy spirit; and the revealing of mysteries and insight into the future. As demonstrated in the life of Daniel, humility and an excellent spirit are vital attributes in the operation of the spirits of wisdom and revelation.

Holy Spirit Workings in Mark

Chapter 12

In this chapter we see the vinedressers hurting or killing all the representatives sent from the Owner / Father. Finally, killing His son - the Father sent John the Baptist and Jesus to His Vineyard (Israel) but they rejected Him. So, 9 What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vine-growers, and will give the vineyard to others. Jesus is still being challenged and tested by the Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees, and the Scribes - the religious and political rulers of the day. 10 Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, to catch Him in His words. The last time was in Mk 3:6 these former enemies come together because of Jesus, but it is because they both oppose Jesus and want to destroy Him.

They challenged Jesus about taxes, resurrection, the great commandment - 28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "What commandment is the foremost of all?”

David Guzik says, The scribes were the “Bible Scholars” of Jesus’ day. They were entrusted with preserving, learning, and teaching the Word of God to the world. These are the men that the people of God should have been able to trust, but Jesus says instead they should beware of the scribes. The scribes represent a complete contrast to the picture of how a disciple should be - as a servant, as a child, as one carrying a cross. Jesus says that we should notice what they do as well as what they say.

The last thing Jesus talks about in this chapter is giving; giving not to be seen, not only out of our abundance but giving from the heart and even when its all we possess. 43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.

  • Read: Mark 12  - Write down what the Spirit shows you.

  • Ask Holy Spirit to teach you of His acts and His ways.

  • Cry Out for God’s Presence to invade your life, church, city and this nation!

  • Ask Holy Spirit to cause your eyes to be open to discern the times.

  • Ask Holy Spirit for a fresh infusion of the reverent fear of the Lord.

  • Ask Holy Spirit to impart in you a greater hunger for righteousness.

  • Agree with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 for oneness / unity among the Body of Christ.

  • Wait in His Presence, get under the spout of heaven; tarry there until you are endured with power from on High.

"What commandment is the foremost of all?” The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these.
