Day 8 - Come Lord, O' How We Need Your Presence!

Oh how we need the Presence of the Lord to invade our lives. Let us cry out for more of His Manifest Presence in everything we do and say.

Longing for More of Him,

Feast of Weeks  / Week 2 - Revive America, Oh Lord!

Day 8 - Come Lord, Oh How We Need Your Presence!

Sunday, April 28th

America is in desperate need of revival - a great awakening. We, individually and as a nation need the Presence of God to invade our lives, our churches, our cities, and our nation.

Over the next few weeks we will review what God has done in the past and see what God intends to do in our day.

Looking Back to Move Forward!

4 One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. 6 They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. 11 They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, 12 so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving towards all he has made. - Psalm 145:4-6, 11-13

This Psalm speaks of the divine pattern of spreading the fire by telling of God's mighty acts, awesome works and great deeds.

Defining Revival: “Arthur Wallis in his book entitled, ‘In the day of Thy Power’ wrote: ‘The meaning of any word is determined by its usage. For a definition of revival we must therefore appeal to the people of God of bygone years, who have used the word with consistency of meaning down the centuries, until it began to be used in a lesser and more limited sense in modem times. Numerous writings on the subject that have been preserved to us will confirm that revival is divine intervention in the normal course of spiritual things. It is God revealing Himself to man in awful holiness and irresistible power. It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed, and human programmed abandoned. It is man retiring into the background because God has taken the field. It is the Lord making bare His holy arm, and working in extraordinary power on saint and sinner.’”

Revivals And Church History: Timeline of Christian revival

Since the 16C Reformation, some writers identify six waves of special revival or "Awakenings" in the church worldwide - from 1727, 1792, 1830, 1857, 1882 and 1904. In 1906 the modern Pentecostal Movement was born in Azusa Street, in Los Angeles.

The Azusa Street Revival was a historic revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, California. It was led by William J. Seymour, an African American preacher. It began with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and continued until roughly 1915. The revival was characterized by spiritual experiences accompanied with testimonies of physical healing miracles, worship services and speaking in tongues. The participants were criticized by some secular media and Christian theologians for behaviors considered to be outrageous and unorthodox, especially at the time. Today, the revival is considered by historians to be the primary catalyst for the spread of Pentecostalism in the 20th century.

Ernest S. Williams visited the revival as a young man in 1907 and was astounded at what he encountered. Many years later, he wrote,  “I wish I could describe what I saw. Prayer and worship were everywhere. The altar area was filled with seekers; some were kneeling; others were prone on the floor; some were speaking in tongues. Everyone was doing something; all were seemingly lost in God. I simply stood and looked, for I had never seen anything like it.”

The Jesus movement was an Evangelical Christian movement beginning on the West Coast of the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s and spreading primarily throughout North America, Europe, and Central America, before subsiding by the late 1980s…

Secular and Christian media exposure in 1971 and 1972 caused the Jesus movement to explode across the United States, attracting evangelical youth eager to identify with the movement. The Shiloh communities and the Children of God attracted many new believers while many other communes and fellowships sprang up.

Could It Be That Time Again?

The last global movement of God’s power started 25 years ago in January 1994, with the Toronto Blessing - Two years later in 1995 on Father’s Day the Brownsville / Pensacola Outpouring was birthed - One year later in August of 1996 the Smithton Outpouring. In 2008 the Lakeland Revival began in Lakeland, Florida.

There hasn’t been a national revival since 2008.  Although, according to Charisma Magazine Revivals Across the South Could Point to the Third Great Awakening, January 2019. Revival has broken out in Cane Ridge Kentucky, New Life Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville, Georgia. Even the U.S. military base at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, is feeling the Spirit's fire. The Baptist Press reports that chaplains have seen "an incredible hunger for God," with nearly 2,000 soldiers giving their lives to Christ since March (2018).

In 2016 in San Diego the Fire and Glory outpouring began and is still going as of today. Recently the Mario Murillo and Billy Graham Ministries traveled up and down the state of California calling forth revival. But as of today, no state or national revival has swept the land.

Face To Face - Longing For His Presence

And Jacob called the name of the place Face of God; for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.  - Genesis 30:30

Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found grace in Your sight, make me see now Your ways, that I may know You, that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people. And He said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. And he said to Him, If Your presence does not go with me, do not carry us up from here. - Exodus 33:13-15

  • Presence: H6440 = face, face of God towards us, face (of seraphim or cherubim)

What Has God Spoken to the Nation?

Look among the nations, and behold and wonder marvelously; for I will work a work in your days which you will not believe, not even if it is declared to you. - Habakkuk 1:5

On January 28, 2019 during our Mercy Monday call our special guest Kingsley Walker prophesied; “ As you release Mercy, watch the flame grow.  I am building a fire in California that individuals will be drawn to—souls will be drawn from all over the world, like moths to the flame.  They will come to the fire and be changed, not to be burned up but to be consumed by me.  They will come to my holiness, to my love, to my Mercy.  They will come!!! The wilderness time is ending -  as we release mercy, we release magnets to draw out peoples needs, circumstances for God to meet.”

"I Am Filled with Hope! A Great Shift Is Upon Us! Are You, as a Believer, Ready?” Dutch Sheets / Breaking Christian News / / February 7, 2019

A Third Great Awakening is upon us. God is allowing things to boil, bringing things to the surface so that He can deal with them. The question is not, "Will revival come to America?" We will get a revival. We will get a Third Great Awakening. The question is, "What is the Church going to do with that?A Great Awakening will require us to be stretched in our thinking, to discard "doctrine" that has fallaciesIt will require a shift in how we teach and disciple. It will require a shift from a self-centered Gospel to a Kingdom-centered Gospel. I am filled with hope! A great shift is upon us and will continue throughout 2019. What a privilege to be part of what God is doing in this hour.

We are entering an hour of history where the Church must make itself ready. We are now warring for the eternal destinies of millions and the destiny of our nation.

Something must happen to awaken the conscience of this nation and turn the thoughts of people back to God. A revival of monumental proportions is the only hope we have to see the hearts and minds of multiplied millions turn to God. If it is the only hope—then with God, it is inevitable.

Don Pucik said of revival: “Revival is essential. Revival is the restoration of God’s presence to His people. In Exodus 33, God threatened to remove His presence from His people. Understanding that there is no real life apart from God’s presence, Moses pleaded for God to return to His people. In verse 15, Moses said, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” God’s presence is essential. We need Him, and we were never intended to do life or church without Him.

Revival is also experiential. In other words, when God is present, life is different. In Acts 3:19, Peter said, “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Peter understood that the presence of God alone could refresh and renew the hearts of His people…Everything changes when God comes among us! Let us pray that He will revive each of our hearts with Himself, transforming our nation as we are transformed as His people.” Don Pucik, 8 Reasons Why We Need Revival,

  • Read Exodus 33:12- 22; Psalms 145

  • Cry Out for Revival for God’s Presence to Invade your life, church, city and this nation!

  • Pray (prayer points given by Dutch Sheets)

    • Pray for the Body of Christ (yourself included) in America to make itself ready for this wave of revival coming to our shores.

    • Pray for new levels of understanding to come to churches and new strategies to evangelize the lost and disciple new Believers.

    • Call forth voices to be awakened in every stream, race and generation who will have His heart and express it well.

"Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the One who previously was preached to you, Jesus Christ, whom the heavens must receive until the time of restoring what God spoke through all His holy prophets since the world began" (Acts 3:19-21).

OH, THAT You would rend the heavens and that You would come down, that the mountains might quake and flow down at Your presence--As when fire kindles the brushwood and the fire causes the waters to boil--to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence! - Isaiah 64:1-2
