Day 9 – Abraham’s Seed, Heirs of the Promise

Day 9 – Abraham’s Seed, Heirs of the Promise

Obedience brings Blessing

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist. - Colossians 1:16 -17

This morning while seeking the Lord for today’s devotional I was led back to yesterday’s passage in Genesis 22:15-19.  The phase the ‘angel of the Lord called…a second time out of heaven’.

The word called in Hebrew is qârâ' it means through the idea of accosting a person met; to call out to, address by name. Once again we see how the angels/messengers of the Lord are very personal calling Abraham by name.

Abraham’s obedience brought this second visitation; the angel said, By Myself, I have sworn says the Lord because you have done this thing (obeyed the Word of the Lord) by not withholding your son (that which was precious and your inheritance (promise).

The Lord continues to say, in blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies, [Heb. 6:13, 14; 11:12.And in your Seed [Christshall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [by Him] bless themselves, because you have heard and obeyed My voice. [Gen. 12:2-3; 13:16; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14; Acts 3:25, 26; Gal. 3:16.]

The Lord promises to bless, to multiply, and to cause us (heirs) to possess the gates of our enemies. We are Abraham’s seed through Jesus Christ these promises apply to us. We can possess - occupy, drive out previous tenants, that are opposing us and possess in their place  God’s promises for us. We are meant to be a blessing to the world around us – be a blessing TODAY!

One last thing stood out to me; Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba Abraham’s faith brought the lad (his son, Isaac) back down the mountain and they dwelt in Beersheba (well of thesevenfold oath) or covenant. Wow, may we dwell in the well of oath or covenant with the Lord all our days!

Word of the Lord

By beloved heirs, as you listen and obey My commands, My Word spoken to you blessing comes. Multiplication comes, destiny gets unlocked, and you are empowered to possess the land I have given you. You are meant to dwell at the well of covenant (what’s mine is yours - what’s yours in mine). A divine exchange has been given, receive of Me, as you SIT at this well you will receive my instructions and angelic assistance to walk the path set before you!

Open our eyes, Lord! Uncover my eyes, and I will behold wonders from your law. - Psalms 119:18 (EHV)

What does the Bible say?

Read: Genesis 22:15-19 and the passages in the text.

Action: Set yourself to obey the instructions of God’s voice. What is the Lord saying to you? Has He asked you to obey Him in an area but you’re hesitating? Repent, and set your heart to heed the Word of the Lord. Don’t try to rationalize or figure out all the details, just take your wood and your promise and go up the mountain. Do what He tells you THEN you will see your promise fulfilled. Then you may dwell in the place of covenant promise.

Decree: I am an obedient heir; I listen and obey the commands of the Lord. Angelic assistance is at the ready and are being released to bring about the fulfillment of the promise.
