Day 34 - Not Unto Us Be Glory!

 Not Unto Us Be Glory!

Today, we are looking at the fourth king: Joshua 10:5  So the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered together and went up, they with all their armies, and camped by Gibeon and fought against it.

Gibeon lay within the territory of Benjamin, and became a priest-city (Jos 18:25; Jos 21:17). Here the tabernacle was set up after the destruction of Nob, and here it remained many years till the temple was built by Solomon.

Japhia, king of Lachish, his name means shining or show yourself it represents a spirit of blindness.  This spirit will try to get you to shine the light on yourself and demand your rights, so that you take God’s glory for yourself and lose the ability to receive revelation from God.  It can darken your spiritual understanding, bringing a lack of joy and a feeling of bondage.

Lachish means “invincible.”  This spirit will cause you to think that God can’t do anything without you.  You will view yourself as irreplaceable.  This attitude will come because you have become the light instead of letting Jesus be the Light.  You will view yourself as invincible against Satan’s force, but you will fall.  “Humble yourself to show yourself approved.”  Let Jesus be the Lord; lift Him up so that men will be drawn to Him and not yourself.

We see this demonic force very active in the earth today, ‘demanding our rights’ is heard throughout the land even in the Church among the people of God. The desire to been seen ‘to shine’ above others brings envy, jealously and self-seeking which brings confusion and every evil work.

Read Psalms 115 & Psalms 20 – these passages are our antidote for pride, seeking the stage or spotlight. We don’t need to demand our rights as we trust in the Lord – He goes before us and makes the crooked places straight. He Will Bless Us!

Meditate on these today, declare them over your life. Let the Holy Spirit search your heart, ask Him to shine His Light upon it and reveal any pride or self-importance that may be hiding inside. Repent, renounce and move into thankfulness.

Psalms 115:1-18 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth. Why should the Gentiles say, "So where is their God?" But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them. O Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. The LORD has been mindful of us; He will blessus; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the LORD, Both small and great.  May the LORD give you increase more and more, You and your children. May you be blessed by the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's; But the earth He has given to the children of men. The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor any who go down into silence. BUT we will bless the LORD From this time forth and forevermore. Praise the LORD!

Psalms 20:1-9To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of DavidMay the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah May He grant you according to your heart's desire, And fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up ourbanners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call.

ALL Glory To The King,
